The picturesque market town of Hexham and pretty village of Corbridge are only a short drive away.  They have a lot to offer, many historical and cultural attractions including the medieval Abbey, Old Goal and Moot Hall.  Also, you can explore some of the parks, perfect for taking a picnic, On Sundays in the summertime there is live music in the bandstand and at Christmastime the park is decorated with pretty fairy lights, even Santa comes for a visit.

Or maybe stroll through their streets, where you'll find some great independent shops alongside popular well-known brands.  Dine at some of the top-quality restaurants, cafes and public houses.

In Hexham you'll also find a Racecourse, Art Decor Cinema ,  golf course and theatre,

Hadrian's Wall

Northumberland has the longest stretch of Hadrian's Wall, it rises and plunges across Northumberland's staggering landscape.  We have lots of sites nearby including Housesteads, Steel Rigg, where you'll find Sycamore Gap, the famous tree from the Robin Hood movie, Vindolanda and Chester's Roman Fort to name just a few. Also, The Sill near Steel Rigg is worth a visit.

The Northumberland coast is an area of outstanding natural beauty, with its long stretches of sandy beaches, high cliffs, rolling dunes and magnificent wildlife all makes for a great adventure.  why not head to the Farne Islands and take a boat trip for a chance to see puffins, seals and if you're lucky dolphins!

Pay a visit to Bamburgh Castle, which is thought, has occupied its site for over 10,000 years.

Tynemouth is steeped in history; the Priory dominates the headland overlooking the North Sea and the River Tyne.  You can watch windsurfer's and even book yourself a lesson!  At the weekend Tynemouth hosts a popular market. And of course, treat yourself to fish and chips.

We are very lucky to have lots of amazing castles to visit Bamburgh, Alnwick, Lindisfarne, Chillingham, Dunstanburgh, Aydon,  Also some amazing Country Homes and gardens such as Cragside, Wallington, Belsay and Ainwick Gardens

Dark Skies

Northumberland is one of the best places to stargaze, its Europe largest area of protected night sky.  Kielder Observatory is a fantastic experience, where you'll be mesmerized by the wonders of the cosmos.

Newcastle

Newcastle is a vibrant city, that never stands still, it has an electric atmosphere and is only a 25-minute drive away or you can take the bus or train.  You'll be sure to find something that interests you, whether you're a theatre goer, football fan, enjoy some retail therapy or are a culture vulture, it has it all.  Why not take a scenic wander along it's Quayside, taking in the iconic bridges and dining at some of the top restaurants that are on offer.  The Quayside hosts a market on a Sunday morning, where you can see local crafts and enjoy some street food.
